About UBA
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a flagship program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aimed at connecting higher educational institutions with rural communities to address development challenges. ITM Gwalior is proud to be an active participant in this transformative initiative, contributing to the betterment of society through its engagement with local villages.
Objective
- To leverage the knowledge base of ITM Gwalior for addressing the rural challenges.
- To foster a deeper engagement between students, faculty, and the rural community.
- To promote sustainable rural development through innovative solutions.
- To bridge the gap between urban and rural India by implementing need-based interventions.
- To collaborate with sports organizations for enhanced training and participation opportunities.
UBA Activities
1.Village Adoption & Surveys – ITM Gwalior has adopted 5 villages under UBA and conducted extensive baseline surveys to identify key issues such as sanitation, education, employment, and healthcare.
Adopted Villages: Sarnagat, Badera, Belgada, Bargava, and Chetupada (Block: Dabra, District: Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh). ITM Gwalior has been a participating institute in Unnat Bharat Abhiyan since the 2018-19 session and continues to contribute actively.
2.Community Development Initiatives
- Health & Hygiene Awareness: Organizing medical camps, menstrual hygiene awareness drives, and Swachh Bharat campaigns, ensuring accessibility to basic health facilities.
- Educational Support: Providing teaching assistance, career guidance, and digital learning resources to rural students to improve literacy rates and career prospects.
- School Library Establishment: Setting up libraries in government schools in adopted villages to enhance access to learning resources for students.
- Increase in Student Enrollment: Due to UBA interventions, the number of student registrations in government schools in these villages has significantly improved.
- Renewable Energy Promotion: Encouraging the use of solar energy, biogas, and sustainable farming practices to enhance energy efficiency and agricultural productivity.
- Water Conservation Initiatives: Implementing rainwater harvesting systems in government building through the Local Administration on the basis of ITM UBA Cell initiative, water management awareness campaigns, and promoting sustainable irrigation techniques.
- Waste Management & Environmental Protection: Promoting waste segregation, composting, and tree plantation drives to maintain ecological balance and reduce pollution in rural areas.
- Infrastructure & Basic Needs Development: The UBA Cell has shared important reports regarding infrastructure gaps and basic needs with the Administration of Dabra and Gwalior, leading to action taken on various initiatives such as road repairs, sanitation improvements, and electrification in rural areas
- Regular Village Visits & Activities: Every semester, 6-7 planned visits are conducted to UBA-adopted villages, where various community development activities are organized to ensure continued engagement and impact.
Achievements & Recognitions
- Perennial Fund Award: ITM UBA Cell received recognition from IIT Delhi, the National Coordinating Institute of UBA, for its impactful contribution in adopted villages.
- Reports & Interventions: The institution has submitted reports highlighting key rural issues and proposed solutions to the District Collector for necessary actions. Several of these recommendations have been implemented successfully based on ITM UBA Cell initiatives.
- Recognition from Local Authorities: The Local Panchayat and Government Schools in adopted villages have appreciated ITM UBA Cell for its outstanding support and active participation in community development initiatives under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.

Library club encourages students and faculty to utilize library resources regularly, fostering a habit of reading and research. The club hosts quiz competitions, debates, or book discussions related to technical and non-technical topics, fostering intellectual growth and curiosity.
RED RIBBON CLUB
Red Ribbon Club is a movement started by the Government of India in schools and colleges through which, students spread awareness over HIV / AIDS. The red ribbon is a symbol for both drug prevention and the fight against AIDS.
I’VENT’O STUDENTS CLUB
This club is a dynamic platform designed to empower students and elevate their skills across various domains, including technical, non-technical, and eSports.
